Pencil Readers


Boontech Pencil Reader is ideal to install at Induction Crush for quick identification of electronic tag. It communicates direct to feedlot or producer software


The reader module box can be mounted at any position, while the pencil antenna is mounted on re-tractable wire system. Once finished reading an electronic tag, simply release the antenna, it will automatically rewire it back into retractor.


The pencil antenna is fixed into a pistol like handgrip for easy handling and also has a built in power switch for the on/off option.

a) Direct serial communication via 9 pin female PC connector

b) 230-volt power connection with adaptor to reduce output power



Boontech Pencil readers for the NLIS consisting of:

a) Boontech Pencil reader, mounted into heavy-duty rubber handle, with operational button switch

b) Ingersoll Rand retractable unit with 1.5 meter travel

c) Boontech reader module, installed in IP67 enclosure with beeper to alert operator of successful read.

d) 24 volt, DC adaptor with AC 240 Volt input power supply

e) 5 meters communication cable with RS 232 serial PC connector
